Dear Africans

I wish to draw your attention to an advert that coca cola is running with a song entitled “I Love You Africa.”

Where as everything else about the advert is fine, I am very uncomfortable with the words that appear towards the end of the video that say, “while the rest of the world is busy worrying about the future, one billion Africans are busy enjoying a coca cola.” I feel this is demeaning the intellect of the Africans irrespective of the meaning they attach to the message in the advert.

Everyone that has a life has issues. I prefer not to bother others with my own life dramas by keeping my issues to myself and moving forward. Instead of dwelling on the past or things that i cant change.

 While others choose to lay their life drama out in public. Opening the door for the attention or pity they need to seek because they refuse to move forward from the past or realize that they cant change it. Neither type is a fake!
